As such, our aim is always to build a very strong creative team around our company from whom skills can be learned, sharpened and developed. We believe in quality, rather than quantity and place an emphasis on developing our members’ skills and confidence over time. Slapdash Theatre seeks to produce work to highest possible standard. Of course we do welcome those from further afield to participate should they wish - you do not need to be exclusively Carlovian! We seek to give all the wonderfully talent local artists, professional, emerging and amateur a space to practice their art, nurture their skills and showcase their talent. We firmly believe that there is more than enough talent within our little county and surrounding areas to produce wonderful shows. Slapdash Theatre is made by Carlow, for Carlow. We hold open auditions for every show, and as a rule, never pre-cast a production. We believe that everyone has the right to be given and opportunity to be involved and represented whether on-stage or behind the scenes, no matter their ability or experience. There are three core principles to the company: Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength, adding seasonal theatre camps for young adults and children, and commissioned plays as well as musicals to the company’s catalogue. The company is dedicated to the nurturing of local talent, and on a mission to bring world class theatre to your front door.

Slapdash Theatre Company was founded in 2012 by theatre maker Janice de Bróithe.
